Dhipaya Insurance Laos Company Limited was granted a license to operate its insurance business in the Lao PDR on 1 January 2014 with a registered capital of USD2,000,000. Its main office is located on the 5th floor of the KoLao Tower (Alounmai) on 23 Singha Road, Nongbone Village, Saysettha District, Vientiane Capital.   • What are the opportunities and challenges of the AEC for Dhipaya Insurance?

The AEC, which is the largest market in Asia and the world, has a total population of more than 600 million people. Hence, the AEC is a strong driving force for facilitating regional movement and integration of goods, labor, and businesses. This is a very good opportunity for investors and businessmen to work together to develop this market as a solid, single market place. It is also a great opportunity for products in ASEAN countries to spread quickly throughout the region. For Dhipaya Insurance Laos Co., Ltd., I see the AEC as a good opportunity to expand our “Brand” to other countries in the region in the future.

  • Can you tell us about the ASEAN AWARDS 2016?

This Award of Success was made on the basis of the solid foundation of Dhipaya Insurance Co., Ltd., with the government as the main shareholder, moving towards growth in ASEAN. For the Dhipaya Insurance Co., Ltd., non-life insurance and life insurance are the starting points of our business in the Lao PDR. Since 2014, our company portfolio has grown by over 600%. We have more than 20,000 current customers holding insurance. In addition, Dhipaya Insurance Laos Co., Ltd. also return benefits to Lao society by continuously supporting various activities with the ultimate goal of promoting sustainable development in the Lao PDR.

Due to the success so far, the Executive of Dhipaya Insurance Laos Co., Ltd. was awarded the prize of best executive, research and development staff and model officer under the Strengthening Executives and Development Project. We are privileged to receive this prize that recognizes our high reputation, and expresses trust and pride in me and my organization.

  • Do you have any personal motto in life?

Based on my experience dealing with the insurance business for more 30 years and in the capacity of managing director in various affiliated companies, the key values I am always committed to are: 1) Never refuse assignments, meaning that whatever your boss instructs you to do, you should never say no to it; 2). Never refuse a location, meaning that whether you are asked to travel to the North or the South, you should accept immediately; and 3) Never refuse time, meaning that whether you are asked to work late at night  or during out-of-office hours, you should not have any objection. If you can practice these three core values, you will definitely have a bright future.
